A snowmobile, also known as a sled or a snowmachine, is a vehicle designed for winter travel and recreation on snow.
It is designed to be operated on snow and does not require a road or trail, but most are driven on open trails.
Older snowmobiles could generally accommodate two people, but most snowmobiles manufactured in the last 25 years have been designed for a single rider. Snowmobiles built with the ability to carry two riders are referred to as "2-up" snowmobiles, commonly referred to as 'touring' models. Skis at the front provide directional control.
This snowmobile safari takes you from fjord to mountain in the Lyngen Alps – a great opportunity to experience the wonderful and varied landscape that exists here.
Before the tour starts you will be given instructions on security and how to handle a snowmobile.
Two people share a snowmobile and switch along the way so that both participants can experience the same. We start in easy terrain on good snowmobile trails and stop along the way for photos and to rest. We drive close to the towering Alps surrounding this area with the Arctic fjord beneath you. The meal can be in a Grilling cabin in the mountain or we drive our safari to the local super- marked.
